to have seen one this year just near York . This is the first time I have seen one this early .

Well, I'm near Paris and there no sign of them here yet. That does seem early. Was there just one or more?

I thought I was seeing things so I turned the car around
to show the wife

And it was flying very low just above hedge height .
It'll be interesting to see if other ABers have spotted one;
None here yet (staffordshire). I love it when they start to arrive
None here in leafy Bucks, but I'm just off out with the camera for a "twitch", so I'll keep my eyes open.

Hi, dustypuss - last week, I saw a swallow down in our village and today mine have arrived home. We don't get swifts up here, but it was lovely to see the swallows have made it back - and they're a week earlier than usual! K x

Are you sure you mean Swifts and not Housemartins? Housemartins arrived near our home in Lincolnshire on the 8th.

now you got me doubting my self > dusty refers to his book > could have been or maybe a sand martin .

any way what the heck its just nice to see that summer is on its way
