I need a break.
Im off to plug the hole in the garden fence, (garden? Ha!), and then let our two Ragdolls out for their first breath of fresh air this year. They look longingly out of the window at our two streetwise mogs who come and go at will.
Speak later.

The error in most so called Christian religions, is that they do not hold the Bible in unique authority.
There is always an, "AND."
Roman Catholicism - The Bible AND holy tradition.
Mormons - The Bible AND the book of Mormon.
J,W.'s - The Bible, (their version of it), AND the writings of Russell etc.
Even in Judaism, they have the Torah, AND the Talmud, which is human in origin and yet carries equal weight to divine revelation.
Fundamental Christianity relies solely on the authority of the Bible.
Theland, All literature - religious or otherwise - is human in origin.

Oh.
Well that's that I guess.
(twiddles thumbs......)
Dum de dum de dum
whistle whistle whistle
(looks at ceiling - delighted at remembering how to spell ceiling).
Scene cuts to Theland walking off into the sunset, in total disbelief that the Yellow Pages could have been written by a mere mortal .............

Hang on Theland dont forget your Adidas Messiahs. These are all the rage round where I come from, and only half a denari as well, unless you haggle.

That's great innit?
I'm plodding along and spreading the Word, and along comes the barmaid and drives the thread straight into a cul-de-sac. Women drivers! Bah!

I love the Messiahas Occy, do they do matching undies?

China dear, remember to walk three paces behind the males in the company, and don't be too demanding like your nimbic mate.
monkeyeyes, veterans on the R&S site have always known that Theland never responds to challenges. He loves his pulpit and doesn't like to hear heckling from those he imagines are his congregation.

You'll notice that when I asked him to produce eye-witnesses, and explain why he thinks the author of "Mark" was one such, he changed the subject.

The best thing is to give an indulgent smile and get on with other things.

Monk & chakka - Sorry to disappoint you both, but if a scholar like Kung can find convincing evidence to find the gospels reliable sources, then to me illustrates that one should not be too hasty in dismissing them.
If I further disappoint you both by refusing to spend hours researching for evidence just to make a point, then sorry again, time for me like you is of the essence, and I have a life to live also.
The important thing is, you have heard from numerous sources the message of Jesus Christ. Reject it and mock me if you like, that is your choice, I have made mine.
Question Author
Despite research by theologists for 2000 years, that supports the very high probability of the reliability of the gospels, how can you, chakka, simply dismiss so much scholarship in one or two sentences?
