I've heard this song in my local supermarket of all places. It's a female singer, sounds young, possibly American.

The only lyrics I have are:

"These things were taken from me"
"These things no longer exist"

Song is slow, kinda folky-poppy. Hard to describe.

Taylor Swift?
Colbie Caillat? Nice american folky pop - worth a listen even if its not right! (It's my mellow choice for the car....!)

Don't think it's either of those. I think the same artist has a song called "Take me as I am" or has that lyric in it at least, I've heard that in the same shop too and I'm fairly sure it's the same singer. It's freakin' me out.
Faith hill
Put them in a search engine they may come back with the artist and song. and put them in apostrophes

No joy yet I'm afraid. Not Faith Hill or Goapele. I've trawled the web for weeks now and still nothing. Maybe the shop staff might tell me if I asked?

I can't believe how hard it is to find out who it is! I'm amazed.
