are aluminum pressure cookers safe, regarding toxics

i bought my girlfriend an aluminium pressure cooker recently. but she refuses to use it, i only bought it because of its lightness. but she says its very dangerous because of the toxins in the metal.
anybody have an opinion?

it has a link with dementia i believe.
also, the acid in some fruit/veg can react with aluminium.
personally, i wouldn't use aluminium pans now either.

* many soft fruits

This is because aluminium can affect the taste of these sorts of food.

Does your girlfriend use tin foil?
blimey.....coke in alli-cans - no wonder we're all here. Tell her not to eat the pressure cooker just cook in it!
i remember reading that the lead content is very high in aluminum cookware. lead is very damaging to the brain.

many restaurants still use aluminum pots and pans for cooking.
have used the same aluminium pressure cooker for many years and have no problems. the cookers are quick and save electricity/gas.
