Whenever films get discussed and I comment on not liking films that much I just get strange looks as if it is impossible not to be a film buff. Please tell me there are others out there!!!

I am not a film buff either.   I get DVDs now and again but I dont go to the cinema and not done so for about 20 years.
What is it You particularly don't like about them?

I often fall asleep when a film's on and have been known to nod off in the cinema, so I suppose I'm with you on that! It has to really keep my attention.

Don't worry aiai, you are far from alone!

If I'm at home and a film comes on I may sit and watch it, but I almost never plan to watch something that'll maybe last two hours or so unless it really captures my imagination. That said, I don't mind going to the cinema, but haven't done for a good few months now.

So there's no chance of you watching the Lord of the Rings films back to back then?
Johntheplzmf.  It just most films these days are too long and most could be as effective with 30mins cut.  I jsut dont like sitting in the  one postition for hours
I'm not a big film fan either.  I haven't been to the cinema for about 2 years.  I think it's expensive and I'm another one who starts twitching after about an hour.  I don't know why really as I go to the theatre a lot and don't have the problem there.  I know a lot of people who say "oh I'm going to the cinema, what should I see" and that baffles me because I'd only consider it if I knew there was something I specifically wanted to watch.  I do watch dvds sometimes, though.

Glad to see i'm not the only one then...If someone asks me to go the cinema then the first thing i always ask is "Is it more than two hours?" If the answer is yes then i don't go.

As for Lord of the Rings...Foolishly i went to see the first one and boy did i get a numb bum! Even more foolishly, i didn't at the time know that the film was a 'to be continued'. I thought the three films were three separate stories. I was also sat in the front row and ended up with a stiff neck. No, i haven't seen the sequels.

That said, Carry On films are fantastic!
