i seem to have accumulated numerous different spices and apart from needing space to keep all the jars i find it a pain hunting through them for the ones that i need. i have looked on the internet and cant really find anything to store them in. Just wondered how you all store yours or whether you can recomend a website for me buy a storage thing from? many thanks.

I got Mr O to knock up some storeage for me out of some scrap pine. It's like mini shelf racks attached to the inside of a cupboard door.

i was thinking that mrs o but he has a list of things to do and think i'd be waiting a while if i suggested that - whereas if i bought something i could persaude him to 'just put it together' or 'just screw it in place'!
You could buy some cheap ready made spice racks and screw them to the inside of a cupboard door. Try shops like Poundland, Wilkinsons, Boyes etc.

i use two 2 litre ice cream containers (i think they're 2 litre ones, the labels came off years ago), stacked one on top of the other. my herb and spice jars just fit nicely inside them, and the bottom container has a lid on so the other one sits comfortably on top. i tend to keep spices in the bottom one and herbs in the top one. it's easy to just lift the container(s) out of the cupboard, find the jar i need, then put it back in. each one holds 12 jars standing up, with another 4 lying down on top.
got 2 lengths of 2x2 fixed to corner wall, shelved & window front like corner cupboard. Bottom two flaps for tins war cabinet and top for bottles & china

im not at home at the moment but one thought i had was - will the cupboard door shut with something attached to the inside of the door, do the shelves come out to the front? or maybe i wont be able to use the whole shelf with something on the door? hope this makes sense?!
Dont screw it onto the door opposite a shelf!

doh! they look to big to avoid the shelves!
I used to store my spice and herb jars in little wooden racks on the worktop but they used to go off quite rapidly cos they were in the light... then I hit on the idea of storing them in one of my top kitchen drawers, all laid out on their sides with spices on the left and herbs on the right.... I can see what they are cos all the labels are upward facing and as they are kept out of the light, they keep much longer.... it also impresses the hell out of visitors when I open a drawer to reveal..... a drawerful of herbs and spices !
