Hi All
I was hoping someone would have some advise on this.
I handed my notice in and gave 30 days notice. 20 days into my notice period the company has advised everyone is on a 90 redudancy period.
Does anyone know if I am entitled to anything. I have worked for the company almost 10 years

You can disqualify yourself from a redundancy payment if you resign before the end of the redundancy notice period. If it works out that your position does become redundant it is indeed most unfortunate that you resigned ahead of the redundancy (in this case before the start of the redundancy notice period).

A long shot would be to ask your employer to rescind your resignation.
No you are not entited to redundancy. You chose to leave and will be gone before any redundancy kicks in.

Anyway, is the 90 days really 'a redundancy period' or is it for consultation?

Can you be sure your role will go.

As Kempie says, you could ask your employer to rescind your notice. Or , as a long shot, you could argue that you were ill when you resigned and your state of mind wasn't sound so your employer shouldn't have accepted it,

Finally, can you tell us why you resigned? If you have accepted another job won't you have agreed a start date so you can't hang on.
As per the other 2 answers, but merely to add that the 90 day bit WILL be the consultation period - that's the way it works. No redundancies have actually taken place so far.
I'm afraid you've leapt off the ship a little too early.

I was actually virtually forced out of the company. I am persueing constructive dismissal.
I have a catologue of issues where I was ( and I hate this term as its overused!) victimised. I was emotionally bullied and couldnt take anymore of the bullying. I was a manager and I was treat really bad for almost 2 years. I highlighted the issues to by boss's boss( at it was my boss who was doing it) but I was shoo shooed away, and told to put up & shut up. Whilst I was off ill, my team and shift were disbanded and I had no team to go back to. There are many individual issues which i wont go into on here.
