Norris and Ross McWhirter
twins Norris and ross McWhirter compiled the first book in 1955.
I remember seeing an interview with the McWhirter twin some years ago and if I remember It started something like this. Beaver had been shooting and afterwards in the pub an argument developed over which was the fastest flyingBritish game bird. Beaver tried to research the subject with no success an d eventually a friend referred him to the McWhirters, who were students at the time with a little side line in researching obscure data for other students.
