I have received by email some architects drawings scanned to pdf. I view them with the Adobe reader 9 and have tried to use the measuring tool by ticking on the toolbar option. It seems this is 'enabled by document rights' - I presume the author has control of this? But there seems to be no security restrictions on the documents. Any way that I can measure dimensions from them? Can't print out because they are A1 size.

I've had this message, but somehow I've continued and it still works.

However this depends on the software. The one I use is Foxit Reader. It's free and doesn't seem to throw up the problems others do.
