I'm quickly going off this bloke.

Did any of you see it in the week (programme 2). I only switched it over when he was talking to an Inuit person (I think) & he said the first time he see a white man (the Inuit), it scared him & he said something like "I thought he was very ugly...". Billy just laughed.

Can you imagine if a white man said that on national telly about a black man or an asian man etc?

There would be hell to pay & the programme would probably have been axed.

As Billy Connolly had ventured into one of the most remote areas of the planet, peopled by a dwindling yet proud indigenous race, your argument falls completely flat........

Unless it was only posted to raise outrage and promote back-slapping from the ususal suspects.........?

Your argument doesn't make sense, you berk.
Think about it..........

By all means continue to try and raise the burning crosses on this site, but please, please use an argument that is a little more sensible.
You're going off Billy because of a comment made by someone else?????? What is yir point?
I went off the Big Yin years ago when he changed completely from his lowly roots into a celeb-fawning luvvy and a champagne Socialist whose purple or pink coloured beard nowadays says everything about him - FALSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think billy connolly is superb..he came from nothing and has made millions from pure talent. he remembers very well just where it was he came from and is always telling people that it's what made him what he is today. i don't think it would be possible to find a more down to earth celeb. fair play to him! :0)
I agree gonzo, I have always been impresed by how patriotic he is and how he never forgets where he started.
The inuit is entitled to his opinions, and just because you don;t find someone physically appealing doesn't mean you are a racist, it's just a matter of personal taste and what you are used to.
My ex wife is a very level wonderful woman who bears no sort of discriminatory thoughts in her head about anyone, yet she doesn't find most black guys PHYSICALLY appealing as partners, nor men with hort hair, nor very short men, yet one of her closest friends is about 5'3, male, black and shaven headed.
The comment means absolutely nothing and you need to get out more:)
Hi,
I'm finding the new Connolly series quite good,a worthy successor to Michael Palin's travels. At least he shared my disgust at the killing of the seal.,and in this series he is not appearing on stage for quick excerpts,as he did in his Australian and NZ travels.
Although I didn't care for him much as a stand-up comic,he appears to be coping well in this format.
Regards
is it really billy connolly or father abraham???
This is a brilliant series, mind you I did have to hide behind my cushion when the "inuit" man was killing the seal then feeding its eyes to the kids, but as Billy C said, He would go to the butchers for mest and theres none of them in the Arctic Circle! I don't hink for one minute there is any race issue here at all..... just a well made TV programme
