A referendum on compulsory voting is the only answer let the people have their say. We certainly dont need one on proportional representation which would lead to the BNP gaining the odd seat in Westminster God forbid, the only people that want PR are the ones that have no chance of gaining a seat under first pass the post system! In Italy corruption in politics is a way of life with weak coalition governments we dont want that here.

Thanks for all of your contributions. I would be interested to know how the Australian system works. I bet a lot of Zimbabweans wish they were free to have a fair vote compulsory of not.
For those who insist on a "none of the above" option, it really isn't necessary as all you need to do if you're a don't know or a don't care is to submit a spoilt paper - easy innit?
But Topsy, this is still not an explicit way of saying you do not favour any of the above candidates.
