Hi all,

Do you need a confirmed booking to travel on a cross channel ferry or can you just drive up and board without a pre-booked ticket if there is space...

Thanks..

You can just drive up - but you may pay more than if you booked in advance

Also at one time they wouldn't sell day returns on the day - whether it's still true (and which companies have/had that rule) I don't know.

Thanks dzug.
Last time I went across, we had a booking but got there early. They let us on the earlier ferry without any problem. P&O I think.
