I sold an item on ebay and the buyer has recieved it damaged. It was well wrapped and also postal insurance was offered on the listing, which the buyer opted out of.

It was sent via standard parcels, in which case, she can't put a claim in with Royal Mail, but again this was stated in the listing.

Due to it being well wrapped and her opting out of insurance, am i liable to give her a full refund as this is what she is requesting..

The way i see it is, i sent the item well packaged and its not my fault that it was damaged. I did state on my listing that once it was sent to the post office, it wasn't my responsibilty.

I know this is the wrong category, but i think ill get more answers here..

Thanks

depends on :

what the Item was and How much you value your sellers rating

but if you put on the listing it wasn't your responability once it goes to the post office you shouldn't have to give them a refund.
Are you sure she's not making it up just to get her money back off you?

The item was a Limited Edition Snowglobe that she paid 67.00 for. I do value my buyers feedback and thoughts etc, but why should i miss out when i did everything correct and by the rules.

Tigger - This did cross my mind, but i'd never be able to prove it would i? :-)
Sounds like you did everythjng you could've/should've. The buyer chose not to take the insurance: their risk. You owe them nothing.
I'd say posting a snow globe would be very risky, but it was the buyer's risk.

you've done your bit, in my opinion.
Perhaps you could ask them to send you a photo of the damaged item including the packaging that you mailed it in. This suggestion does not, of course, answer the question of what you should do regarding any compensation; however, it might provide proof of any actual damage.
the buyer should have taken the insurance
so it's their problem . If it was bubble wrapped
and boxed it should not be damaged , think
your buyer got it and didn't like it ....just another
one on a scam .
