what product could be used to give tired old facing bricks a clean look, now inside a conservatory, have cleaned with acid , but would like a sheen to enhance the color, have tried satin yacht varnish, looks good but darkens considerably, paving sealer just seems to dry dull.

How about using the paving sealer and then applying a coat of satin varnish over the top? The sealer will prevent the varnish being absorbed by the brickwork.

Try a small area first to test the result, or get a couple of bricks to test it on first.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you.
Have you considered Thompson's Water Seal?
