Do you mean so you can see what your website's text and graphics will look like at different screen resolutions/sizes?

Can you not just flick through the different screen resolutions on your own PC?

yes that is exactly what i mean.

no when you do that cos they are not the corect settings for the machine it goes really blurry and does nto really help. plus to test all screen resolutions each time will tkae forever.

I know this may seem a silly suggestion, but why not just change your screen resolution.
What a silly suggestion chuck ;-)

as i said before.

i dont want to change the screen resoltion 20 or more so times a day. it is just to test the site. i dont want to have to do it everytime i made a cahnge and need to test in another screen size otherwise i will be spending my whole day going in setting it to about 6 screen sizes and then putting it back that is a lot of effort when there is software out there i just cannot seem to find it.

does it make more sense now what i need?
As Perry Mason would say "Asked and answered", Chuck.

But why change the resolution of the screen anyway? Just manually resize the browser window.

This is especially easy if you use a free gadget like Pixel Ruler (which is also handy for lots of other things as well).

That will teach me not to go and answer the door before submiting my replies, there was no answers when I started :)
Not sure what software you are using to design the site but
I think both Dreamweaver and Front Page/Expression have this capability built in (while since I used them but cannot be sure), you can certainly test for different browser sizes.

Remember to also test it with browsers OTHER than IE, things that work OK in IE will sometimes not work in Firefox (mainly because Firefox follows the web standards, IE does not).
