I'm blushing: I have been prescribed viagra for, well, I'll assume you know what for. And I've also started seeing a new and special lady friend. Chances are we may consumate that new and special friendship this week.

Question: Should I tell her about my condition and treatment (which I've just tested and I'm VERY happy to report, it works like a dream!)?

Why not?  If you are that close to one another that you're, um, consummating your relationship, then you'll want to be honest from the get-go.  For example, if you were diabetic or had MS or something, you'd tell her, correct?  I remember when I was still dating the man to whom I'm now married - we were at the pub on a date, and we both instinctively knew that our relationship was soon to hit that next level...I was probably thinking ahead of myself at the time, but I wanted to be honest in case he was thinking of a future with a big family, etc.  Over a couple of drinks, I confessed to him that I had Lupus, took many medications for it, and had been advised to never get pregnant.  The discussion was relaxed, honest, and made us somehow closer on an emotional and intellectual level.

In the case of your lady friend, you could similarly mention your situation in a relaxed situation, and put a lighthearted spin on it...saying something along the lines of you're so glad that you met her now, when medical science was there to help you overcome your problem so you can physically express the love you feel for her, or something like that.

I believe that the best kind of relationships are those that include straight forward honest people who can be confident to speak about anything and everything with their partner. I don't think I would be this close to my partner if we kept important things from eachother. Ok, yes, I do think this '21st century etiquette' is rather important!
no need to be,or feel embarrased jimmy b..and with you saying that you've already 'tested one, or more, then you know  how good they are ... you say though, that you were prescribed them ? on a private/pay for prescription..... or free ? the reason i ask is because they are very expensive to buy, perhaps you already know the cost ? so if you and your lady stay and remain together, and your'e ' a once a night man,( altho' one pill will last one full night anyway) you can work out the total cost per week... if 'thats you ' then yes it's worth the money... personally, i wouldn't tell her anything yet, she will notice nothing different in your performance anyway... BUT, IF  this is to be a long time ,or permanent relationship, then i say yes, tell her, explain, because she may wonder where all your money is going ! why your'e skint all the time ! but, have no fear, she will understand, and 'wanting ' what you both want, will more than likely offer to pay towards the cost... until you do tell her though, i suggest you keep one pill with you at all times, 'cos you'll never know what of time of day she will want the kisses, cuddles,,, and extras,,,, good luck and dont worry.

Very funny Dick Cheese......

JimmyButtons - you sound from your post as if you think a lot of this lady, i'm assuming she feels the same about you. Tell her, you've nothing to be ashamed of -  If you've got something that special, she won't care about your "condition" as you called it.  Be honest and open from the start, and go from there.  Hope everything works out well for you  x

Jimmy - From a woman's point of view, I would be inclined to tell your lady friend that you did once have a 'bit' of a problem, but that you are now taking medication for it & all seems okay at present. That way, if you did start experiencing problems again & the medication didn't agree with you for any reason, at least you have pre-warned her. Good luck.

Nice one Dick!

Thanks for responses everyone. In the end, well, I flunked telling her, but didn't flunk between the sheets. That's crude, but true. It all went as well as I could have hoped for and I'll be telling her in due course. Unless or until I don't need the little blue pills anymore!!
