are iva s a good idea or are they a waste of time, will you be able 2 get credit after the 5yrs they say its ment to last and will you be able to get a morgage, credit ever again

You will find it more difficult to get credit after an IVA but it's not the case that you wont' be able to get credit ever again.

Although if you need to enter into an IVA to clear your debts, I'm not sure why you would WANT credit ever again!!

As for whether they are a good idea, they certainly aren't the best solution for everyone, it depends upon your individual circumstances.

We did an IVA and it was the worst thing we ever did! They are not as straight forward as the ads will have you believe. They are very complicated and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I would strongly suggest you contact ALL of your existing lenders and try and negotiate with them all before you even consider an IVA. They could probably freeze your interest and offer you something reduced that could help.
