i am trying to set up a new router with an old 2003 p.c. and can't find where to change it. I need to find "obtain an I.P address automatically " mode. The old one keeps going to dial up. I am on 24hr broadband. any help please much appreciated.

I bet you don't need to change it...

start > control panel click on classic view in top left and then click network connections. you should then see one called local area conection, right click on that and select properties, then look down the list and you should see internet protocol (tcp/ip) double click on it and you can set it there.

But as I said bet it is already on automatic

to stop it dialing your old dialup then in internet explorer click tools menu > options then click on the connections tab and put a tick in never dial a connection.
