Going to be Godmother for my gorgous nephew, am delighted ofcourse. Want to buy something a bit unique, (he has already been bought all the sliver keepsakes etc) but something that he will always have. Unfortunately I dont have much cash, but willing to go up to 30.

Suggestions would be REALLY appreciated.

For my cousin's christening last year I bought a teddy that you can write messages on. I wrote a poem on it and then it was passed around the guests for them to write messages on. It was around 10 (it was to go with something else - I'm not that stingy!) and it went down really well.
a crown derby figure, the rabbit or anything a lasting joy forever. Prudentia xxxx
Hi Pipflower - what about a lovely hardback edition of your fave childhood book / nice collection of fairytales etc My brother got my son a lovely slipcase HB edition of Wind in The Willows which he is REALLY looking forward to reading with him when he's old enough (my son not my brother!!) I still have a gorgeous HB fairytale bk I got from my auntie when I was about 5 and still love looking at it and thinking of her. Hope this helps x
Hi Pipflower

When Baby Picky was christened, my sis named a star after him. He got a certificate and a big map showing where in the universe it was, which is now on his wall. It was so lovely and unique and we were really pleased with it.

Might be worth a look!

If the child is old enough you can get them to draw a picture for the charm.

If you did like charms look around as there are loads of different companys.
good luck x
An apple tree. It can grow with him!
How about a special scap book that his parents then he can add to over time to form a book of your life with him.

You could put photos, cards, messages, memories, all sorts of stuff in it over the years to be a keepsake of a time he will not remember but was remembered for him.
Get him a collectable bear that has his name - Boyd's bears do loads and I have managed to find one for all my newest neices, great neices and great nephews recently.
A mini potted apple tree is really great, I bought two for my grandsons, they take two seasons to fruit, and last Autumn, we all went and picked our first crop of about 15 apples, they really enjoyed picking and eating them, they aren't really that keen on apples usually, but because they'd watched them grow all Summer, they really loved them!................they cost about 18 and I got a free pear tree too because I bought both apple trees, so we had pears too!
lots of lovely ideas I know not my post but thanks anyway
We bought a friend's son a Laird title. It cost about 30 and purchases a small area of land in Scotland (about a square foot). Owning the land means you are able to use the title Laird or Lady. Just a bit of fun really but unusual.
Under 50.....set of new 2009 coins

How about a St. Christopher medal on a chain? Medal could be engraved with baby's name or initials. You could think of it as symbolic - baby setting out on life journey (patron saint of travellers.)
if you could just add a bit more you could get something like this...priceless...
