Wasn't sure where to put this question. I am currently on income based jobseekers and therefore entitled to money towards new glasses. I have had my prescription for a while now but have not been able to afford any glasses.

Does anyone know the value of these vouchers and how I go about getting one?

TIA

Ring the NHS Help line on 0845 850 1166 and ask them to send you Form HC1. This is the form to claim for help with health costs and glasses are included.
Hope this helps.
Have a look on glassesdirect.co.uk. They are very reasonable.
You need a 'GOS3 form'. You could have asked for it when you got your prescription but you can also ask for one when you order your glasses.

Depending (I think) upon the type of prescription you've got, there will be a letter on the form which indicates the maximum amount that your voucher is worth. That can be anywhere between 35.50 and 196.10. See page 17 here:

When ordering your glasses you need to sign the GOS3 form and show proof of entitlement.
