In the last 4 months i have had a most itching anus. It is just above the outside of it, (not inside), i have tried creams but they dont work. Keeping it dry with Talcum powder helps, but doesn't solve the problem. Im afraid to speak with my doctor regarding this. I saw online that it could be worms?

I was about to suggest worms, but thought you might think I was having a laugh.

You could have worms, which can be contracted from undercooked pork products, the worms come out whilst you sleep and in turn, you will scratch and possibly reinfect yourself.

You could also have Haemeroids, which can itch as well. You really ought to see your GP, as both are treatable.
Is it possible that you are not cleaning yourself properly after visiting the little boy/girl room?

Try using the moist toilet paper for a little while and see if that works.

Worms is the pretty likely too. Your doctor may be able to help with those.
No need to be embarassed - what ever you can think of, your GP has seen it - and treated it.

Explain the situation, he / she will examine you and get it sorted.

You'll be glad you did, and let';s face it, leaving it and hoping is not working is it?
It is more likely thread worms from uncooked fruit and vegetables. See the doc, he will prescribe a tablet which will eliminate the problem.
You can buy treatment for threadworms over the counter an a Chemist's - Ovex, I think it's called. You take one tablet straight away and a follow up one two weeks later.
Try that and if the problem doesn't go away then you would have to see the doctor.
If you have a family it's worth getting a large pack and treating everybody at the same time, plus change all the bedding, towels and so on.

I had this problem some years ago and a friend gave me some special soap for use after using the loo. Regret I can't remember the name of the product but it did the trick. When I'm away from home (where I have a bidet) I take moist wipes to ensure 100% cleanliness.
To check for worms try looking with a mirror when you are itching. Worms come out at night to lay their eggs.
its sounds odd...but do you sleep in pyjamas ??

i had a similar problem on occasion...and i discovered it was being caused by the seam at the back of a certain pair of pyjamas i was wearing...

for some reason, the seam would ride up while i was asleep and basicallly irritate me...i didnt notice it at the time...it was just the next day

i stopped wearing them to sleep in an havent had the problem since!
I think velvetee is confusing her worms.
Tapeworms (scolex) can be caught from pork/beef products but are very rare in this country. Infected meat is very obviously infected (the eggs are fairly big and visible) and would never get past the abbatoir.

Thread worms are very common. If you wear dark undies/jimjams you should be able to see any escapees as they look like tiny threads of white cotton.
Tapeworms can grow up to 20 METRES in length so I don't think for a minute you have them.
"Itchy anus"....you clever thing mrs_o.!!!!
drop of deep heat round ur finger and shove that up,should sort it out ...you,ll be as good as new in a jiffy.
Forgive me derryman, but if you have a dog for instance, you can get worms from it if you allow it to lick your mouth.

No i dont have a dog Carlton, Hey folks thanks for the answers. Will take on board. cheers
Try washing in warm water with some dissolved salt in. It may sting but never mind. Then dry and put some Tea Tree Oil on with cotton wool. This has a strong smell but it seems to cure a lot of things. Good luck !
