Help! I thought 18a Unconditional, like liberty horses(9)
was unbridled, BUT does not fit with 4d which I have as Dashboard. Also stuck on 8d. Tense? Things will, apparently, never get better (7,7).
Many thanks

present perfect?
8d Present perfect
..and could you give the clue for 4d.
I have the answer as RIDERLESS

Liberty horses are circus horses? A Rider is a clause put into a legal contract as a condition, hence unconditional.

Can anyone help me with my last two, please? 17 down- "Soft-skinned fish largely gutted with old Maori weapon" (??o?e?i ) 7 letters
and for 22 down, I have NASTY as the answer to "No way in-that's bad"--but it seems wrong because it's too simple and obvious. Anyone explain for me please?
Many Thanks
17d L(argel)Y O MERI
Na st y.....Nay =no...St (street/way)
Thanks for that Kayakamina, I had found a Maori weapon called a "Mere" but not a "Meri".
I have just grasped the sense of 22 down too!! Must have been thick at the time!!
