Can they prove it was you? Did you do it?

If they offer you a caution it probably means they don't think it will stand up in court.

"Three years imprisonment and/or a fine on indictment; six months imprisonment and/or a fine summarily" if you are prepared to take your legal advice from Wikipedia.
