The simplest way to do this is to project onto a white matt painted piece of hardboard, put the video camera alongside the projector and get started. Try to use a room where you can cut down on the ambient light. I do possess a device which uses a mirror and small screen but the white hardboard is a better method. Remember to put something into the Mic socket to stop the built in Microphone picking up the projector whirring sound, gets tedious removing it. jim

thanks jim, I read about theses transfer boxes and wondered if they were a gimmick or the real bussiness. I will certainly try your advice.
thanks, alf.
I have done exactly what Jim has suggested and it has worked very well.

thanks gents, one piece of info please. what size hardboard is the best size. should I get a 4ftx4ft piece?
thanks again, alf.
These guys are right, for the best quality transfer then use paper and not the transfer boxes. The only problem you will get is flickering of the film. the trick is to match the speed of the camera with the speed of the film. There's a lot of good information on this site http://www.cine-to-dvd-transfer.co.uk here http://www.cine-to-dvd-transfer.co.uk/cine/tec hnical_secrets.html
