This third week in the reign of Queen Meg saw yet another perfect launch. I am starting to believe that she is an IT specialist in her spare time and designs websites! This week, she chose the theme Family Holidays with link words:

MIDNIGHT Sun
IRISH Sea
Sand CASTLE
Beach COMBER

Yet another neat collection ~ with a thinly disguised "Castle Wedding" in October, her living in the NW of England ("Irish Sea") and a "Midnight Sun" to mark the safe return of slaney from her quest to find the South Pole!

Most of the early entrants spotted SAND CASTLE for TWO POINTS. The first was roslyn251254 who led the way for london_lassy (welcome back) , Dinkypuzzled, beejay1154, patchett, centrino & jan1956!

Around this same time, ex-champion ulysses100 found treasure with BEACH COMBER for the second direct hit! Entrant #10 came in at 09.02 with the favourite SAND CASTLE together with MIDNIGHT SUN to claim FOUR POINTS and carry off the coveted title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK! This was yet another ex-champion in the form of Grenmus who wins this accolade!
*** Let trumpets sound and cannon roar ***
*** Let the people cheer and shout Encore ***

At three minutes past nine, the scoring went a little quiet as the entertaining evsajo & lysander submitted almost identical predictions (sadly scoring ZERO points). The time for scoring bonus points ran out at 09.04, just before a surge of quality entries arrived a little late. These late comers included seekeerz, Dustybun & Jim.

At this same time of 09.05, the long-awaited slaney arrived and scored with Beach Comber ~ surprisingly missing out on Midnight Sun, Irish Sea and Sand Castle! Detention for her!

Just when I was about to give up on IRISH SEA ~ who should make the connection at 11.22, but wickedtongue (who else!). Among the steady scorers, Grenmus, Dustybun & devadiva each managed a double hit (Well done)

The League Table after this third week is:

EIGHT POINTS: Dinkypuzzled
SIX POINTS: Grenmus
FOUR POINTS: Christiana, Dustybun, kettledrum, lysander & ulysses100
THREE POINTS: Shazza, devadiva, jan1956 & wickedtongue

It is worth noting that, once you identify the ex-champions in the table (above), the highest scoring non-ex-champion becomes Dustybun! With two more weeks to go, there is still much to play for.

I cannot wait to see what Queen Meg has in store for us next week.
Until next weekend, this is crofter signing off for another week.
See you next Saturday: Same time Same place Same setter

Until then: HAPPY LINKING!

:o)
Well done Grenmus and congratulations to all of the other point scorers. Let us see next weekend whether Dustybun can maintain the pace !.

Well done to all who scored points. Thanks to everyone for taking part and to Crofter for all his organising. I've still another 2 weeks of this to get through!!
Well done everyone!...except me!

'thinly disguised'- that's a good one crofter - heavily blanketed in Scotch mist is more like it !!!

having got that off my chest, thanks to you and of course Queen Meg for providing the fun and to think I actually scored a point !! and congratulations to everyone who did so well - you never cease to amaze me
