Is Society Getting Worse?

I am 58 next month, have 6 children and 4 grand kids, and think that society is not only worse, but irretrievably breaking down. I accuse porn, Islam, secularism, greed, materialism and selfishness for this and think that only a change in the human heart, not legalism can save us, Or ..... am I mistaken?

You know I have been reading answer to the thread I put in on the news section and after some thought I don't think it has.
Several reason for this.
Today the same problems exist as existed centuries ago, I.E alcahol and its over consumption.
Today news travels faster and further than it ever did. I.e it wasn't that long ago when trouble or murder in one part of the country stayed there and not even the next village would know about it until weeks later.
Our attitudes towards what is right and wrong have changed to the point that we are more tolerant of some things and less of others.
We are more enlightened (or though in some places thats debateable), so we think differently now to any other time in history. We are no more or less selfish than before or greedy or materialistic. It has always been that way. It's human nature.
It is harder not to be these things thats why so many are like that and always have been.
