candle wax

Has anyone out there any idea what would remove spilt candle wax from a fairly new beige carpet? I have scraped off the dried wax but am left with a pretty ugly stain. Glad of any suggestions to try.

Use thick brown paper, place it shiny side upwards, absorbant side down. Iron over the paper with a warm iron.
The wax will be absorbed into the paper.

I have heard, though never tried it, that you put blotting paper over the wax, then iron it. The heat from the iron melts the wax, which the blotting paper soaks up. Have a go, and let us know...
