there is a picture/painting of what appears to be an american diner on a street corner (in the 50's) either late at night or early am.
with a few customers inside. any ideas??

I know the picture because french kids have it in their books at 6th form level and have to describe it. I'll try to get some info. on it if nobody comes up with anything. What do you need to know?

i was wondering what its called and by whom,
I've just been channel hopping and by some coincidence on the sky Sci-fi chanel two characters in the program "Dead like Me" were discussing this self same painting
Note the interesting absence of a door in that diner ...

I believe it would be a painting by Jack Vettriano
Sorry just had to go and check - could it be 'Daytona Diner' by Jack Vettriano
Is it Nighthawks by Edward Hopper?
