What dioxins have been found in Irish Pork? Exactly what is a dioxin?

Is this another case of Gov over-reacting and killing our farming industry.

Dioxins are cancer-causing agents. I only know about them because some areas where I grew up in NY were cancer hot spots because of high concentrations of them.I think they are industrial by-products.
Absolutely. Very poisonous. If they get into the water supply, they can effect the food chain. Dioxins can be in chemcals which get into footstuff - eg. fruit and crops which're sprayed with it.
Another case ? What other cases do you know of our Government killing the Farming Industry ?
Killing our farming industry?

The ban is on imports from Ireland. If anything, a ban on these imports might help our (I assume you mean British) farming industry.
No, it's just the Muslims trying to get Pork banned.
Northern Ireland is part of Great Britain.
Aaah - actually daffy654 it's not part of Great Britain it's part of the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - the UK... Great Britain is England, Scotland, and Wales.
