Well, we picked a lively one and it struggled to get out its box all the way home in the car. Within 10 mins of getting into his new cage he had (at 9 weeks old) mastered the wheel, the climbing tubes, the ladders and had started storing food in his wee chubby chops lol

He is lively and friendly, Im sure her nephew will love him and of course its a surprise for Christmas day

Lennon was very good, he had a sniff and a look then sat back and just observed as the hamster went investigating his new home

What a lovely bright eyed little chap - I like small furry animals, the cat brings in plenty of mice so I get used to them!
Love the dog too, bless him

hi Jen - ehm nope I dont mind looking but wouldnt touch one lol

you know it wasnt as scared as we were but after about half an hour darting around it now just kinda sits in the top part of the climbing tubes (above its cage) and keeps turning itself around inside the tube instead of coming out, is this normal?
Question Author
hi bensmum, yeah the dog is a cracker isnt he, getting old now tho
9 weeks? he looks huge! he's going to out-grow that cage before Christmas..... ;o)
He might be looking for somewhere he is enclosed he feels safe to be able to hide, he's not necessarily scared but hamsters like that as they're natural burrowing animals.

Has he got a safe little hidey hole?
Question Author
he is huge sara, we thought he might get stuck in the tube lol

it is a massive cage tho and yes jen on the '3rd floor' there is a hamster house, half stuffed with cotton for him, he actually took food into the tube and was sitting scoffing it as I left, he must feel comfy there right enough

but he didnt run and hide right away like I thought he might
