Fontainebleau might be of interest. It's about 40 minutes by direct train from Gare de Lyon:

Chris
I was going to suggest where Chris has - A beautiful part of France

Also, Meaux. The place for French cheese and the most famous brie in the world

Maison Laffitte is around 40 mins from Gard Du Nord st and you could easily spend a day there.

~If you are going to Paris I wouldn't recommend Disney :-p
If you haven't seen Versailles that is a must, especially now that the Petit Trianon has been refurbished and in its former glory.
Or visit Asterix Park; very french and better than Disneyland by a long chalk.
One thing that I have never done (but mean to do) is visit the canal area that runs through north east Paris.

The canal is called Canal Saint Martin and if you look at the photos it seems an attractive and interesting area (and probably less touristy)

There are some reviews about the area here
