I'm desperate to replace my ageing and decrepit 266mhz donkey of a pootah. Dell are currently offering their Dimension 2350; 2.6ghz, 512mb ddr ram, 60gb HD and 15' tft all for 799 of your British pounds. It seems really good value to me. However, I'm always aware 'there ain't no thing as a cheap computer'.. Do you think it's good value for money? They want an extra 58 delivery charge. Thanks

The price of computers has really taken a tumble recently so I think you have a genuine deal. Dell are a very good make with exceptional support (their website is a dream) despite wanting a 60 delivery tickle. I bet you couldn't build a computer yourself for that money.
For 799 and what they are offering id snap that offer right up. I think its a genuine bargain, get it bought!!
Dell have transformed the PC market by taking exceptional advantage from economies of scale. Where competitors were only willing to reduce their profits to around 5-10%, Dell cut it to mere pennies and cut out distibutors, shipping direct to customers to cut the price even further. The result is that they now own the market. Their machines are great (now anyway, they used to be awful) and even in my professional opinion they're the ones I'd recommend.
I agree I have a PC a Laptop and Dell handheld also my fax is a dell and all my printers. While cartridges for printer are dear the technology and qulity in build are excellent Take advantage of the very cheap insurance. Peace of mind and you can always drop the thing in a years time when you nead an upgrade haha
