I'm not a fan of the BNP (far from it) but why should it be illegal for civil servants etc. to be a member?
It's not an illegal political party they're alowed (rightly) to stand in elections, they even qualify for party election broadcasts on TV.
Should Police officers not be allowed to officiate picket lines if they are Tories, would they be deemed similarly biased if they were Labour activists, are Police and prison wardens not allowed to be members of any political party?
Do the other parties display a list of it's members names, occupations and addresses?

To answer your second question- yes. Turn this around imagine a British Association for Men in Policing, what would happen - furore.
The white male is becoming the poor realation in 21st century Britain and anyone not in this group is absolutely loving that.

Quinlad - Can you tell me where I can view the stats you mention?
Don't think I'll bother to try and set up that organisation as it's obvious discrimination and/or underepresentation is acceptable as long as it is against white people. I think this is a warped sense of "payback" for slavery, even though it was 5 generations back.

If there was a need for that group and anyone felt compelled to set one up, absolutely fine. The only people that would begrudge them that would presumably be people like you, who stand firm against groups like this?

Quinlad this is the 3rd time ive seen sgt rock in last 2 days defending the rights of the bnp so veciferously.
His arguements get more rediculous , regarding the black police officers im still laughing at that.

The BNP and its members are the biggest collection of social misfits you are ever likely to meet. They lack the basic skills and knowledge to contribute anything to society and have decided that anyone who is not white, is to blame for their pathetic existence. They are Fascist's and should not be allowed to preach their hate in any government building or institution. Those who are trying to defend them should own up to being a supporter, or is being labelled a moron too embarrassing?
The last election broadcast I saw for the BNP had a Sikh in it railing against Muslims for their behaviour during the partition (there were atrocities on all sides) I'd guess that he was a member of the VJP.
To call them social misfits etc. is a bit misleading when you've got radio presenters and proffessional people in it. If you view them as such then you are underestimating their presence and their persuasiveness which could prove costly in future elections.

In terms of threats and intimidation then yes pot kettle and black does spring to mind. But 2 wrongs don't make a right and to start harrassing BNP members in their own homes would surely play into their hands?
