Virgin 1 channel have this thing where they e mail you to ask if people would be interested in some programmes they are planning.
One of them is a reality show set in an office but everybody will be nude.
And the point is ??????????????
I like to watch fly on the wall stuff like the police things but some of the c**p tv airs now is pointless.
I don't watch any reality tv shows. They are a waste of time, money and space in my opinion.
Although , I have to admit i did watch a bit of the series of I'm a Celebrity with Jordan and Peter Andre in it, and a bit of the show with Joe Pasquale.Since then I can't be bothered to watch any reality show at all.I find BB utterly boring.I stay far away from that rubbish!!
Reality shows are getting tired old hat now I think.
But,as puddicat says it's money for tv companies.
i think it is sad for the tv industry generally, if they have to 'recruit' people to participate in their shows, albeit people who are not trained actors and wouldn't necessarily demand a high fee, where are the boundaries? how real is it going to get? people are not naked in offices in the real world!
most people i know don't really like reality tv, although how much inpact in real terms has the average joe got, in terms of having some input into what broadcasters actually broadcast?
we all tend to watch what is offered as there is no alternative, and i do realise if you dont like something switch it off,but the theme through a lot of what is offered seems to be reality in all its garishness, and not only that its the sameness and monotony of this reality formatting.
contributing to own thread repeatedly (!)
the beeb and itv with a bit of diversity and originality should be able to produce alternative primetime formats,
I have to confess I rather like watching Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice but I do think most reality TV shows have been flogged to death now. It's all getting dreadfully tedious having the same old tripe trotted out over and over again.
media graduates' independent offerings could be more interesting than reality tv, there could potentially be more diversity and the possibility of encouaging emerging talent rather than rehashing one format,
