i have a R-REG 1.4 PETROL FORD FIESTA that keeps rev-ing when changing gear.It takes few seconds before it dies down to normal idol speed.Its fine when i start the engine but races between gear changes and coming to a stop for few seconds.Does anyone know what could be causing this please. thanks

Hi, Poss return spring on carb weak, something obstructing the return rods Eg/ Air Intake cowling Etc, Your Carpet/ Mat near your foot, Debris under the Accelerator Pedal.

On my Vauxhall Astra this was caused by a sticking idle control valve stepper motor, but I have no idea if your Fiesta has one.

It will be something like that causing it.
