I've been working in Marketing for 4 years and have no relevant qualifications (my degree was in Technology Management).  So my advice would be not to get any qualifications, but to work your way up the ladder.

Fresh out of uni I applied for all the marketing graduate training programms but had no relevant experience or qualifications.  I managed to find a Marketing Assistant job eventually which was a support role (typing, sending brochures, etc.) with a bad salary.  After 2 years I moved onto Marketing Co-ordinator at another company, and I'm now a Marketing Exec and the money is great.

I really wouldn't go for a Masters without any practical experience.  Perhaps do a couple of diplomas or certificates so you can put something on your CV?  The Chartered Institute is very expensive, so I would go for the smaller colleges.

Let me know if you want any more info.  Good luck!
