I work for a corporate events company (although I don't think I'll be going back) Anyway, they do things I really do not agree with. For instance they were catering for a wedding. The bride and groom paid for a bottle of red wine, white wine and bottled water on each table. When the tables were cleared they re bottled the wine and sold it back to the guests, including the bride..!!!!

At a 3 day cricket event they also did the same and put the previous days bottles, refilled, back on the the tables. The same with the water.

How wrong is that?

yes if we were from a 3rd world country!
Am i the only one surprised at the fact that there was any wine left on the tables to be cleared away and reused it the first place????
**in the first place**
How I follow this: -

The Bride paid for the wine
The wine was drank
people wanted more wine
so the caterers put some more wine in the empty wine bottles

so they were just re-filling used bottles and charging for the re-fill of wine.

Don't think thats too terrible, unless I've read it wrong :)
i think karm that the caterers poured all the leftovers into bottles to make them look like full ones and then resold it.
I think it was the left over wine on the tables karmgirl, unless I'm missing the point as well.
karmgirl ...

... my understanding is not that they put new wine into the bottles

but

that the original bottles still had some wine left

So they retrieved the unfinished wine

used it to make up whole bottles

And then resold it (making out that they were new bottles)

I think.

Yes, left over wine on the tables. All the dregs were used to refill the empty bottles and resold.

At the 3 day cricket any leftovers on day 3 was taken back to the main site and resold to cricket fans....!!!
I'm still not getting it though....wine....leftover......, nah, can't understand it xx
yes thats wrong then

I thought you meant they were putting fresh wine in the old bottles

Not everyone drinks wine ya know......!!!!!

The reason it gets left is so much happens at the meal. Champagne gets handed round for the toasts and as soon as the meal has ended the room has to be cleared really quickly to get ready for the evening do.

As quickly as possible before they finish the wine....!!!!
lol @ bathsheba, I'm with you!!!!!
