Does anyone know if its possible that if you write to the main credit reference agencies, they can delete your details?

Certainly not.

You can require them to amend wrong entries, but you can't delete yourself

Aaah, if only we could... my bad credit file would disappear for good and I could reinvent myself...

Unfortunately, as Ethel says, it does't work like that! If you have bad entries on your file, it's tough - they stay there!!!
