hi, can anyone help me please? i set up a sporting team in may this year. people come along for fun, bt we are also planning on entering some competitions next year, (when we have enough talent to put a team in). People turn up if they want to and there is no obligation. we ask for a 2 subs each week, in order to buy new equipment when we have enough money. We have a committe as such (there are 4 of us who are the "helpers", do the setting up and tell people which order to go in) We have some simple rules (including no unaccompanied under 16's) both myself and husband have enhanced crb checks from our jobs. Are there any legal implications? We dont have a constitution because we started it for fun! is there anything you think we must do? i keep the money in a pot in my cupboard at the mo! anything else i need to consider do you reckon?

Public liability insurance, especially when dealing with youngsters in a sporting environment.

thanks. we don't really have any children or young people taking part, most people are in their 30's 40's and 50's (one in his 70's) People sometimes bring children to watch, but they dont take part really. most partcipants have their own indsurance (we state in the rules its advisable to) and each person is responsible for what they and their participants do
A disclaimer maybe?

Do you provide a venue and equipment?
Question Author
the venue is our local villiage field. the parish council allow us to use it, but i dont think they have any insurance. Other people could come along and use it at the same time if they wanted. Yes, it's mmy equipment. Where would one go about getting insurance (if it's needed)
Was trying to post this yesterday then got zapped for overposting when the site was slow...
