Can I save my iPod.

It was in the docking speakers yesterday, and it just went blank.

The battery was charged up.

Now it shows no sign of life.

Is there any way to do a hard reboot, or something?

Help !!!!!

If it makes a difference, it's a 4gb iPod Mini.

the reset for the nano (I assume thats what you mean when you say mini) is

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Chuck ... my darling

... if it was a Nano I'd have said "Nano"

... but it's a Mini.

But I do appreciate your advice. Thank you. x x x

Well it's the same technique to reset one of those by the looks.

Yeah, thanks.

And I know ... if it's a Mini, it's a bit out of date.

Regardless, Chuck's suggestion is correct I think.

Hold down the middle button and play/pause for several seconds. Hopefully you'll see the Apple logo?

(Without the hold lock being on.)

If you hold them both for 15 seconds and nothing happens, then connect it to your PC, and leave it a few minutes. Run iTunes, and give it a few minutes to show up. If so, click the restore button. You shouldn't lose your music, assuming you have it on your PC too.

If still nothing happens, leave it connected to the power for 30mins or so, then see if the middle button and play/pause hold trick will work.
