can anyone tell me what the classical piece is that is on the current 1664 ad, which says "1664, a bad year for composing" - i know the piece of music really well, i can sing it and everything but can't remember what it is!

I think the point is that it is a piece of music made up for the advert (it's a fictitious composer/song etc.)

In my opinion, however, it does bear a striking resemblance to Benjamin Britten's, "Theme from A Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra". But it is by no means identical.

that's exactly the piece i was thinking ot! i knew we'd studied it in school! but that was 20 years ago.....
