Have you seen this story today? I wondered what you thought about it if you have.Do you think Ebay will end up having to withdraw the option for buyers to leave negative feedback as they did for sellers?

I saw it yesterday.

Negative feedback for sellers is coming back, as far as I know.

I think the man's an idiot - he has loads of negative feedback, his terms and conditions are contrary to eBay's and PayPal's and he's an all round bad seller.

I'll be watching to see how it develops

I never understood why Ebay stopped allowing sellers the option to leave negative feedback anyway.Surely it is just as important for a seller to know their potential buyer is a good one via the feedback as it is for the buyer to know about the seller.
I don't think the guy stands a chance of winning any court case anyway as what the seller said about him was true not libelous.
A buyer doesn't need feedback - as long as somebody pays me, I couldn't care less about their feedback.

But people were that worried about it they were leaving good feedback, so they'd get good feedback in return, whether it was deserved or not.

It made a mockery of feedback

I have always kept my buying and selling accounts seperate
Oooh Ethel, SEPARATE.

I've never sold anything on Ebay but I am very proud of my 100% positive feedback as a buyer.I've never had to leave negative feedback but did leave a neutral once due to an item of clothing not being the size listed.Luckily i'm a fairly good seamstress and I managed to alter the item to fit me.
if what he said was true it can hardly be libel.
In the last six months I have had two buyers not pay me. Even with ebay getting involved nothing happened, they just completely ignored all email contact.
In that instance I, as a seller, should be allowed to leave negative feedback.
In four years as a buyer I have left one negative feedback and that was for an item that did not work and the seller would not respond to my emails.
