Would it be possible to be able to click on the user name on any question to see how long they have been with answerbook.  This gives nothing personal away and might go some way to help the present situation.  If names were changed the list could still show the original date of joining, and previous usernames.

or even Answerbank!!  Getting my sites mixed up.
FP - ebay can manage this, so I'm sure AB can!

Ursula.  I have seen this method used on other sites too.  It wouldn't solve everything but it would go a long way towards it.

Thought I read Answerbook went belly up?
Question Author
Don't think so, Artemis.
Quite right FP. Just read the preceding questions answers.
Am I missing something? This is the second time I have seen people posting stuff on this site which suggests that multi -ebay user names can be linked and viewed. Ursula, how do you do this? And where are you finding their 'date of joining' information? I am at a loss to find it.

MargeB it is possible to see any of the e-Bay members profiles and ID History.

When you view an item, read the 'feedback' comments and on the top right of the page is a link to the sellers ID history, giving the date they first registered with eBay and where they are located. It also shows all the user names that seller has had, and when they were changed.

So if e-Bay can do this, I am sure that other sites are able to as well.

OK, thanks for that Lindy Loo.
Does that give you their user name history in series or does it show you any other user names that they use? I'm sure ebay can normally link them through bank account details. Seeing who's running around with what alias...now THAT would make me a confident buyer.
Sorry FP, I didn' t mean to hijack your thread!

I should think it highly probable that Ebay are somewhat stricter about people adopting numerous aliases (sp.) than our editors appears to be!  I hope so, anyway.

And anyone who pleases can hijack my threads, I do it to theirs when appropriate.

What a Good idea. You would have to scoll down for a few days to see some peoples previous user names, lol.I wonder if certain users would stop posting!!Seeing who is running around with what alias:: now that would make me a a confident Answerbanker!!ooops sorry marge i didnt mean to copy you.
FP>I had a look through the ebay message threads on their site and it seems to be part of ebay's policy to accept multiple user names. Not a word of it from them when they talk of using feedback to rate a user, however!
MargeB in answer to the e-Bay question, yes it gives all the user ID's used by one particular seller/buyer; the name and the dates it was used from and to.

Hope that answers your query...

Hi Mr Editor.  Just a reminder that you haven't given any indication as to your thoughts on my question and all the replies.  I would seriously like to know whether there is any chance that my suggestion might be considered.

Or Mrs Editor, even!
