how to they get their power? is there any sort of power grid or do they rely on generators?

I would imagine they use diesel generators.  I don't suppose there are any electric grid feeds, unless they've laid one down from the nearest continent.

Yes they use diesel generators.And the aussies have started using windmills.

Surely the generators would work on petrol or gas, rather than diesle which inherantly freezes in sub zero temperatures, just a though
