Hmmm, anyone know of a decent website or mobile phone that is suitable for a disabled child of 10?
He is in an electric wheelchair, so also if you know of any device that can be hooked up to use a normal mobile phone.
cheers...

You'll have to be be more specific as to his disability. Someone in a wheelchair can use normal mobile phone just like anyone else. If he has problems using his fingers, then there are mobile phones with large buttons, you can have voice dialing, hands-free... there are lots of possibilities but it's impossible to advise if you don't tell us what his disability is.
I think Stephen Hawking has a good one.

Myriad, only genuine help on this Q please.
I know i like to have a laugh in the chatterbank, but this is for a friend. cheers..
Has he asked for one? Maybe you could get him one of the big old ones, with easy to read buttons and speed dials? However, I have to ask....will he not have a carer with him at all times?

Well his mum/dad is with him all the time. He is very clever, but limited what he can do.
I cant seem to find one anywhere.
I am looking to pay up to about 300 if thats any help.
Maybe you could contact a registered charity that specialises in his disability, they might have some ideas. They could even direct you to a specialised shop?
It's very hard to advise on an appropriate model without knowing his exact abilities.

Cheers annie, but i was after a normal phone where he can ring people.
Problem is his parents dont live together now and i was after a mobile phone or mobile attachment device so he can ring his dad and vice versa.
Thought there might be someone on here who might have something similar.
Hi, he can call people - you just preset 4 numbers then he just has to press one button. He can just ignore the emergency stuff.

Aletrnatively, what about a hands free kit like you get in the car and blue tooth or something?

Someone I know has a voice activated system in their car that they just have to say the name and it dials for them.
Why not try BT, they have an online shop if you are unable to get to one of there stores
