Will Northern Rock customers get a payout when they take over Bradford & Bingley, if they have fixed rate bonds or do they have to have Northern Rock shares?

Bit of a premature question isn't it?

A) nothing is confirmed yet, and B) even if it is I doubt very much that issues like that are high priorities.

Well yes it is too early to say but I very much doubt if holders of fixed rate bonds (a savings product) will get a payout nor any shares. There's absolutely no reason for them to do so.

They will continue to receive interest on the bonds at the fixed rate until they expire when they will have the opportunity of reinvesting them in a product of their choice.
