At what time of the year should I try and kill / get rid of the moss in my lawn ? Should it be early Spring ? I`ve read up about scarifying, putting lime onand reseeding etc but am not sure when this should be done. I live in quite a wet part of Northern Scotland.

Moss removal should be done in the spring before it starts growing , otherwise you will spread a lot of spores around thereby exacerbating the problem. As well as carrying out all the lawncare phases that you are planning it is most important to get rid of the cause of your moss.Judging by your info. improving your drainage would be a must and if the lawn is well shaded introduce some shade tolerant grass seed which you can get from a specialist seedsman.
If you have a lot of moss, use it to line hanging baskets in the spring, then aerate you lawn and spread plenty of sand over the lawn and fill the holes.
