Does anyone know of a website that's secure, honest and free/cheap for fundraising? I've been on justgiving.com but you've to be a charity to set it up. The reason being is that I'm on a mums forum and recently one of the other girls hubbys stopped breathing and ended up in hospital on life support and has died this morning so all of us girls are gutted and want to collect something for her but Paypal charge either the giver or receiver for the pleasure of transferring money.

Thanks in advance.

The problem is that to give money over the internet requires a debit or credit card payment and the processor gets charged for this - typically 2.5%, so you are not going to get it free.

PayPal is as good as any for this. The alternative is for one to make their bank details available for donors to deposit monies by direct bank transfer. This is free, but can take a few days to go through, and there is nothing to stop the nominated person from running off with all or some of the money.

Thought as much, thanks. I've suggested someone opening a savings account or something so might just have to be that then. We have all spoken to each other for years so most of us have got other peoples numbers so we'd just trust that they wouldn't.
have you got a moderator or community leader? or perhaps the hosts of the forum could arrange something for you?
