Can someone explain what is happenning in the alcohol dehydration process. Is there some sort of chemical reaction going on, is the alcohol somehow grabbing water and excreting it? Or is the presence of Alcohol just making the body excrete more water? In essence how can we drink loads of mostly water and end up dehydrated? Thanks

Alcohol suppresses the production of Anti-Diuretic Hormone (ADH) by the pituitary gland. That means less fluid is reabsorbed in the kidney's tubules and therefore more is excreted.
