disconnection from internet

Hi all, Mr jd got a reuter, everytime we put the computer on, it automatically connects us to the internet. We used to be able to password connect onto the internet. We could then disconnect internet connection so the children could use it but now it won't let us disconnect - anybody able to help me please?

I assume router goes with broadband
which is generally also referred to as an "always on" connection - and (I know others will disagree but I never switch mine off - it can cause problems.

you don't say if you connect wireless or wire .... but I'd say the easiest solution is to disconnect the PC from the router - not the router from the internet)

display the network connection

then right click and disable it
A lost of wireless routers have settings so that it can only be used during certain hours of the day, or for certain periods of time. Look into that perhaps.
